Watch out with the short pine trees with weak wind.
Landing :

The official landing field is very technical, specially in the spring/summer with thermal activity.

Not enough space to Hang-Gliders.

On the other hand, you have lot´s of 'unofficial' landing´s closest.

From Porto:

About 1,5h travel
Follow A4 highway until the exit 'Lamas de Orelhão', then you will see several plates to takeoff and official landing.

From Lisbon:

About 4,5h travel
Follow A1 highway to Porto, then you get A4 until the exit 'Lamas de Orelhão', then you will see several plates to takeoff and official landing.
