General information

goneXC : Zimbabwe has a sub-tropical climate modified by altitude. The wet season runs from mid-November to the end of March peaking (usually) in January and February. Best flying weather is April through October though good flying can be had in the other months especially in drought years. Augutst,September and October can be windy but also have the biggest height gain potential being very dry and hot.

goneXC : The Zimbabwe Association of Paragliding (ZAP) is the official body. There are no clubs as there are so few of us.

goneXC : Zimbabwe has had a undeservedly bad press over the years but the flying and the countryside are still amazing.
The de facto currency is the US dollar.
Medical facilities are OK to good in the main centres which are some distance from the best flying sites so fly with care!
Once a popular tourist attraction the country sees very few tourists these days but there is still lots to do outside of flying. There are very few pilots at the moment (6!) so crowded skies are unknown.
